Mjølkedalstind 2138 meters, Norway

Mjølkedalstind is 2,138 meters above sea level and is another peak that many aspire to climb. Mjølkedalstind is visible from many of Jotunheimen’s routes and summits and is just as haunting no matter where you see it from. It is tall, beautiful and looks like a difficult object to climb. However, this is not the case!

The absolute best starting point to climb this peak is from Olavsbu. Then you are 1,440 meters above sea level and have a great vantage point. You come to Olavsbu from Leirvassbu, Skogadalsbøen, Fondsbu or Gjendebu.

First, walk over the cliff below the lower cabin (mountain hut) in Olavsbu and follow the ladder to Skogadalsbøen. Then turn left and aim west of the very top. Now you enter the ridge itself, and from here the route goes to the very top.
At the top you will be greeted by a fantastic view. Here you are really standing in the middle of the mountains! Fantastic top.
The journey is not long, but it can be a bit difficult for some.
